Built in 1958, 400 SW Sixth Avenue was originally
six stories. It was expanded to its current height of 11
floors in 1992, and an aluminum and stainless steel exterior
was added. Upgrades have been made to the HVAC, security,
fire and life safety and electrical systems. Interior finishes
includes marble floors, anodized aluminum, woodwork in elevator
cabs and lobbies and custom-designed lighting.
400 SW Sixth Avenue consists of 216,108 square feet of office
and retail space, including Camera World, the northwest's
largest camera retailer, a hair salon and a delicatessen.
There is a state-of-the-art teleconference center on the
fifth floor that is open to the public. Electric Lightwave,
the tenant who set up the teleconference center, also has
its main switch for fiber optics at the building and offers
high-speed phone and data transmission service at a discount
to building tenants.
400 SW Sixth Avenue was sold in 2004.
